Shades. are a chillwave band hailing from the lovely state of Idaho. This track is fitting as the time drips by on this rainy Tuesday. It’s airy and light with some captivating drum lines.
Too many people get the wrong impression of dubstep only being an overly aggressive, headache inducing form of music only fit for hoards of sweaty bros. But, just with about anything, there’s always another side to it. For example, take Lips’s chillwave tune “Everything to Me” and let Bronze Whale rework it.

Summer is almost here. That means salt water, sandy feet, and fresh air for those of us lucky enough to live on a coast. Coast or not, summer is a time for fun and airy feelings. Polaris at Noon gave “Float” by KO KO a beautiful makeover and made it one of those perfect summer afternoon songs to play while you lay around and let the sun rays heat up your skin.
I don’t know much about WEKEED other than they are a duo of a guy and girl who make some really fun music. Their original track “Wild Child” is a solid jam to kick off some summer fun. Roll the windows down and let the wind run across your face with this one blasting and breathe the good times in, enjoy every minute of it.

I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. This morning I was pleasantly surprised with a brand new single from Passion Pit off of their new album Gossamer. I nervously hit play hoping this single wouldn’t ruin the anxious wait I’ve had for this release. Well, they haven’t disappointed me yet and I’ve been playing this one on repeat all day long. Gossamer is due out on July 24.
The Gaslight Anthem have finished up recording and announced the release of their fourth studio album Handwritten. Along with the announcement comes “45”, the first single off of the album. The full album is due out on July 24.
I fell in love with the smooth, calm tune of “Salty Air” almost immediately after pressing play on this tune from Brooklyn-producer J.Viewz. Then I watched the video and fell even more in love. I got lost in the video as it captured the simple desires of my dreams. It brings out the emotions of those relaxing, care-free vacations that never come soon enough. If you’re itching for those summer vibes, this video is just the right fix for you.
I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays. Today was a rather nice one. I tend to use them to reflect on the past week and to plan the upcoming one. I had quite the interesting weekend, so there was enough in my head to keep me entertained. Anyway, I recently was checking out the newest M83 album again and forgot how much I loved “Wait”. I was reminded of this one specifically when an acquaintance told me about slow dancing to this one at an M83 show. It was a great image, and I can only hope that someday I’ll be lucky enough to experience the same thing.

The M Machine, a trio out of San Francisco, have released the first half of their Metropolis album on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Skrillex has an ear for musical talent, and these guys are no exception. Metrapolis Pt. I presents an album full of inspiration from all over the electronic genres but with a flair all its own. It ranges from vocal-driven tracks like “Faces” to hard-hitting dance floor jammers like “Immigrants”. I am very excited to see what they have to offer on Pt. II.
I have been eagerly awaiting the debut album from Purity Ring. Luckily, the wait was made a bit easier with the new song “Obedear,” another taste of what is to come this summer. This duo has run a near-perfect track record thus far and has the blog world crazed over every tune they leak out. The 11-track debut LP Shrine is due out 7/24; it’s going to be a long three months.
